The Awakening

Human life is more than the sum of its parts. Not only are things that can count as birthdays, lovers and bank balances. For each quantitative measure of human existence, there is a qualitative dimension as well. [1]

People tend to equate quality of life in abundance. [2] Although these two are not the same, the confusion is understandable. This is because there is a deeply mysterious relationship between the quantitative and qualitative dimension of human existence. This is almost certainly a connection that goes beyond human understanding, but is the key to important truths that we ignore at our peril.

In terms of material wealth, we all know that the consumer society has produced a slew of ways to satisfy human aspirations. People have more things now than at any other time in history. Everywhere we turn, we are presented with the image of one thing and one thing more to desire to acquire.

Yet many of us have discovered that something is missing from an exclusively materialistic life. How do I buy more things, it turns out that something must give meaning to life. [3] The law of diminishing returns seems to operate in the quantitative dimension of human existence, but that the law does not work at all in the size or quality, or does not work very differently.

Perhaps part of the explanation lies in our biology. What happens, for example, when you lay down on a particular song, but what strikes us the extraordinary beauty, when we heard? If we play the song several times, soon begins to fade into the background of our consciousness. Ultimately, it becomes not only less obvious but no less important. The adage “old familiarity breeds contempt” obviously reflects a deep truth of human cognition.

But this truth presents an enigma. Why the mere repetition of something not just to change our sense of perception, but also our sense of appreciation? To put the question another way, how can purely quantitative qualitative changes can transform a situation? [4] Perhaps we will never find a satisfactory answer to that question, but the relationship between the quantitative and qualitative dimensions can not fail to intrigue us.

This report is part of the fabric of human life. We stumble on it when we realize that a jar of liquid sitting on top of a burner is turned into a qualitatively different state (gas) when the burner is raised a notch. And it does suggest any would do well to recognize truth?

Perhaps the ancient Greeks provided an answer. In Charmides dialogue, Plato describes something called sophrosyne. Translated, this refers to the greek ideal of “everything in moderation, nothing in excess.” The Chinese, too, for thousands of years have supported the ideal of balance in human affairs. In all aspects of human life, they say, the balance is the key to harmony.

We in the West are now aware that if you do not blend as we live our lives, we will create imbalances that threaten not only the quality of life but life itself. In his book, Understanding The Psychology of Joy, Robert Johnson put it this way: “Craving spiritual ecstasy, we mistakenly seek material satisfaction. We chase a ghost, and when it takes – in the form of more money, more food, more sex, more drugs, more drinks, more forgetfulness – we discover that we were chasing ephemeral happiness, when we should have invited lasting joy. ”

So the lesson is clear. We read in our holy books and scriptures. And ‘whispered by poets, preached by sages, and proclaimed by the prophets. On the one hand, we have a qualitative dimension that gives life its flavor and meaning, and without which human life is not worth living. On the other hand, we have the quantitative dimension, things that concern us, and retention, and without which human life is not possible. To live well, our lives, we need to have a conscious respect for both of these dimensions. Nor can we allow to command our allegiance at the expense of others.

Jesus understood this truth when he said: “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God.” This allows direct and simple, invited us to harmonize our lives, embracing the connection between the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of human existence. To deny that the call is to degrade our life experience. To accept the start of awakening.

Intuition: Psychic Ability or Just A Calculate Guess?

Intuition is the most important discussion of the many intellectuals in both the past and present, mainly because there is no specific logic behind this amazing gift.

However, some people have a greater degree of mental abilities, and some may hold lesser. Intuition as a mental ability to get some on a larger share, making them see things in more detail in the future. But there are some who would always claim that intuition is just coincidence. But it will always be people who say that intuition is not a psychic ability, is at all, that there is nothing more than coincidence. It can not be more than a coincidence, if your gut feeling seems to be always right.

However, because intuitive abilities are innate in every human being to see some people learn nothing special. Therefore, it is important to sharpen your intuitive psychic ability. If you think that your intuition is right most of the time, this is already a sign of a strong intuitive psychic ability, then you have the opportunity to develop this gift.
