Twenty-four hours in the air, sixteen hours waiting period. I arrived at LAX at 5:30 pm on Labor Day! I was disoriented in time and place. My first cultural shock, I had never seen so many white people in one place at the same time. I could not distinguish between whites, Latinos and Native Americans. I thought I was going crazy: what was I doing? Am I doing something wrong? I thought of home, family and friends and of course my two daughters that I left in the care of my sisters.
The psychosocial stressors that I went through were: lack of my family’s struggle to education after leaving school for over ten years and be in a new environment. A psychosocial stressor was second cycle of life – I was in the dorm with the students’ age as my own children. The financial resources is another factor. How Your Culture Effects The Way You Think

We formulate our ideas about ourselves and the world around us – who we are and how we fit in – our relationships with our parents in our earliest years. Monkey See – Monkey Do

My father who is a student of psychology, after his postgraduate diploma in that particular area has always created his observation of behavior and training skills, based on that basis.

The other day, after a family reunion, he and I and he talks to me shared her observations of one of his grandsons. He said that his grandson, not yet in preschool, displayed during the play observed behavior with a few of his little cousins the same way he plays with his dad when they are rough-housing and being crazy together. The problem with what he said was that his behavior will be tolerated if performed in another institution outside of his house. It can be seen as bullying or defiance.

It made me stop and think about how important our role as leaders and a mentor in the eyes of the people with whom we associate. Whether it’s in your family, work, church, or professional. Psychologists call this “monkey see, monkey do”.

Well, let’s think a minute about how this “monkey story” could apply to you. But have you ever associated with, or someone who looks like one thing to do and say another? What are the results of that as is “model” or copying their behavior? For example, they tell you what a great company, but it is when you are alone with them, all they do is criticize and tear apart the leaders, products – you get the picture.


Do not you find yourself ultimately questioning their guidance and counsel because of that nagging doubt? Imagine the impact on someone this step to include the locations of all their faith and confidence in you as the person who will help me achieve these objectives and basic – change my life. After all, it is not ‘change of life’ that motivates them in the first place!

Can Bad Hypnosis Produce Good Results?

I recently made a remark to a local university psychology instructor also poorly done hypnosis can produce positive results. Unfortunately, most of the studies I have seen restricted to guided imagery and Ericksonian methodologies. Although these techniques are very suitable for most issues relating to psycho-dynamic behavior and integrative medicine, they are not effective in the case of an emergency or no pain-related cases, where anesthesia or analgesia is required.

Of course, some operators have more hypnotic skills and talent than others. Is this also applies to doctors? However, lack of standardization of hypnotherapy training (ranging from 20 to 300 hours for an accredited certification) and qualifications are a problem. No, with a medical degree confers no hypnotic or psychological qualifications.
